Overview
ESEN International School is located at Street 214, Village 2, Commune 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia. It is a leading educational institution committed to providing a high-quality, trilingual learning environment, Khmer, English and Chinese from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It was founded in 2015 by Mr. Kheang Sokheng, Founder and Director of ESEN International School. The school initially operated as ESEN School, offering General Khmer Kindergarten and General Chinese and English programs to equip students with strong language and academic foundations. On July 25, 2019, the school transitioned into ESEN International School, a transformation officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport. This recognition allowed the institution to offer a comprehensive National and International Curriculum in Khmer, English and Chinese from kindergarten to grade 12. With a focus on academic excellence, language proficiency, and global perspectives, ESEN International School prepares students to excel in both national and international settings. The school fosters an inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning, ensuring students are well-equipped for future challenges.

Management Team
Mr. Kheang Sokheng
Founder and Director of ESEN International School
Mr. Kheang Sokheng is a Cambodian education professional with over 20 years of experience in English language teaching and academic leadership. He is the Founder and Director General of ESEN International School in Sihanoukville, Cambodia—an institution dedicated to delivering high-quality, multilingual education in Khmer, English, and Chinese, from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Under his leadership, ESEN International School implements a comprehensive trilingual curriculum, equipping students with the linguistic, academic, and intercultural skills needed to succeed in both local and international settings. The school emphasizes academic excellence, cultural understanding, and 21st-century competencies, ensuring that learners receive a well-rounded and future-ready education from early childhood through secondary levels.
Mr. Sokheng holds a Master of Education in TESOL from Pannasastra University of Cambodia, as well as dual bachelor’s degrees in Education (TEFL) and Business Administration in Cambodia. He is currently in Year 3, Semester 2 of his Ph.D. in Management at Build Bright University in Phnom Penh. His doctoral research focuses on student motivation and attitudes toward English language learning in Cambodian public schools.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sokheng has developed extensive expertise in curriculum design and instruction, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Second Language Acquisition, Language Testing and Assessment, Core English, Cultural Studies, English for Tourism, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and Business English. From 2007 to 2019, he served at Build Bright University in multiple academic leadership roles, including Chief of Graduate Studies and Deputy Director of Academic Affairs.
A regular contributor to national and regional educational forums, Mr. Sokheng has actively engaged in discussions on educational quality assurance, university governance, and curriculum innovation. His strong foundation in educational management, combined with his passion for teaching, has enabled him to mentor both students and staff while maintaining high academic standards.
Beyond academia, Mr. Sokheng is also skilled in translation, interpretation, and educational tour guidance, further enriching his intercultural communication expertise. He is fluent in Khmer and English, with near-native English proficiency.
Mr. Michael Frank Baze
Director of International Curriculum
Mr. Michael Frank is delighted to join a multigenerational school that has been serving students since 2015. The school offers a continuous educational journey starting in pre-kindergarten and extending through the primary and secondary levels, with a strong focus on foreign language development as its guiding principle. As a licensed teacher in the United States, Mr. Frank previously taught secondary school in Florida, USA, ESL in South Korea, International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in China and Mexico.
Mr. Phy Sophal
Deputy Director of Administrator and IT
ESEN International School
Mr. Phy Sophal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Build Bright University. With over seven years of experience in the education sector, he has demonstrated strong commitment, professionalism, and leadership in both academic and administrative roles.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sophal has developed extensive experience in curriculum coordination, staff supervision, and school operations management. His background in education enables him to effectively bridge academic excellence with administrative efficiency.
As the Deputy Director of Administration and IT at ESEN International School, he plays a vital role in overseeing curriculum implementation, coordinating academic and administrative teams, managing IT systems, and fostering a positive, structured, and technology-driven learning environment. His leadership supports the school’s mission to deliver high-quality education while maintaining strong operational standards.
Mr. Sophal is passionate about continuous improvement, digital innovation in education, and creating a supportive environment where both students and staff can thrive.
Miss Sokha Sreyleap
Chief of Finance and Accounting

Educational Background
Miss Sokha Sreyleap holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from University of Management and Economics. Her academic training provided her with strong foundations in financial management, accounting principles, taxation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Work Experience
Miss Sreyleap has been serving at ESEN International School since 2020. Over the years, she has played a vital role in strengthening the school’s financial systems and ensuring transparent, accurate, and compliant financial operations.
As Chief of Finance and Accounting, she is responsible for:
Overseeing daily financial operations and accounting procedures
Preparing monthly and annual financial reports
Managing budgeting and financial planning
Ensuring compliance with Cambodian tax regulations
Supervising accounting records, payroll, and internal controls
Supporting strategic financial decisions for school expansion and development
